See allThe Song of Achilles is a mythical retelling of Homer's Iliad, that introduces the lives of Achilles and Patroclus. Madeline Miller has taken the war plot and enhanced it with romance, spice and so much more. Some of my favourite moments are from the training with Chiron. I think the characters are developed very well. The plot still sticks to Homer's Iliad. The start is sweet, giving off Hellenistic vibes. The end is a strong and beautiful scene, creating the atmosphere of love, forgiveness and peace.
The Song of Achilles is a must buy if you are looking for a retelling of the Trojan War. Or if you're even looking for a LGBTQ+ romance book.
I will never stop recommending this!
Circe is a gorgeous retelling of the myth of the goddess of witchcraft — Circe. In this astonishing novel Madeline Miller tells to the story of a immortal daughter of Helios. In this Adult Fantasy, Circe is born to be hated. She overcomes great challenges of love, jealousy and strength. On the way she meets fabulous Odyssey, for whom she may risk everything. Circe is a must buy for fans of Greek Mythology. This novel shows a great prose of Madeline Miller's. I will never stop recommending it.
