Coming from a white person who doesn't look at the world through the frame of a black person, this was enlightening. It's clear to see that the election of Trump is very much in line with our history as a country and should not be a shock. Really enjoying Coates' essays.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. You can definitely hear Bill's unmistakable voice and excitement throughout. He really wants to instill a sense of wonder, just like he's done in his shows. Can't wait to read his next one.

The writing style in this book just got annoying. I'm not able to pinpoint what it is exactly but, while the reading is easy, it's not enjoyable. Strobel also only interviews people who already are believers. If you want a balanced argument, there are likely better books.

TLDR: Everything in the Christian Church, from the Liturgy to the Pastors to the Music, is based on Pagan influence and popularized in the third and fourth centuries. This book is great for a fresh look at Christian practices and if you want to learn about the history then great but the book starts to get pretty repetitive.

I absolutely loved this book. It took a bit to get used to the way the author writes, especially with the lack of quotation marks, but I think I actually bring you into the story more. It feels like you're there with the characters. I'd definitely recommend this book
